Room 12

Wow, what a great week!
On Monday we went to Room 20 and we got started with our mathletics, and learnt how to upload photos.

On Tuesday we went swimming at the Parnell Baths and we found out how how to save lives! We were split into two groups and got to wear life jackets and dive off the diving board! It was also Laurens 8th birthday which was fabulous especially eating her yummy lollies!!

On Wednesday we had Mrs Swift in and she helped us with our testing and then we wrote some fantastic stories! Mia also found a very relaxed Praying Mantis outside the class which created lots of chatter among the children. She managed to capture it with our class camera, which I am encouraging all the children to use often.

On Thursday we finished off our spelling testing and Harry wrote an amazing dinosaur story to go with his 3D picture! Great job Harry, we really enjoyed it.
 Annabelle brought us an article from the Herald about a Manta Ray that was sighted in the Bay of Islands, we love reading news articles. Please keep bringing them in.
 

Then today we had our first visit to the library for 2012. Everybody choose a book which we have for two weeks before its due back. We are going to go every Friday after morning tea at 11:30. Even Eeyore had fun!

We also had a school blessing for the new building site. We all met outside under the tree and our local Kaumatua came. It was a great ceremony that the children enjoyed being part of.
